Winter 2024 Indoor Volleyball Season

Dates/Times: All games will be played on Saturdays from 11:00am – 3:00pm.

Duration: Each match will be played as best of 3 sets, or 45 minutes of play.

Facility: 29^th Street Community Center

League Description: This division is designed to maximize social connection. We plan to implement more advanced/competitive play in a future season! Teams will consist of 8-10 each and with a 6v6 format (6 players on each side of the net). Every team must have at least one non-cisgender man on the team. We will have A 7 week regular season and the 8^th week will be the Tournament.

Registration Cost: $50 per player, which includes your registered player t-shirt. The league is open to all and those in need of an equitable registration option can email us for more information.

Registration Information: Registration for the Winter 2024 Indoor Volleyball Season begins on December 8^th and ends on December 22^nd or when the league is full.

Experience Levels: When completing your registration, please keep the following skill level descriptions in mind to ensure that all teams are well-rounded:

• Beginner - I have never played before or have limited playing experience.
• Novice - I know the basics of volleyball and I'm gaining ball control. I can get the ball over the net and I understand the concept of 3 hits.
• Intermediate - I have good experience playing and I know where to be on the court at all times.
• Advanced - I have extensive playing experience and can run combination plays.
  

How to Register: We'll place groups together to form teams of 8-10 people. Each team will need to choose one Co-Captain and two Referees to be trained to help officiate games as needed. Here’s how you can register for a team:

1. Register as a Captain and create a team – One person must sign up as Captain and create a team name. Then your friends can register for that team through the registration period with up to 6 additional people. After registration closes, we’ll add additional members to your team as needed to ensure you’ll get to meet new people!
2. Create a “Small Group” of up to 4 people – If you want to register for a smaller group of up to 4, you can! In that case, no one needs to be captain. One person simply needs to create a small group, which up to 3 other people can join. We’ll add your group to a team after registration ends.
3. Register as a Free Agent – If you want to register as an individual, no problem! Simply sign up as a Free Agent and we’ll add you to a team once registration is complete. We can’t wait for you to meet your team!

Note to Captains: If you plan on being the captain of a team, you will need to register first, create the team and team name and then have up to 6 additional players register under your team name. An email will be sent once you have signed up with additional team information and responsibilities. Captains are also required to attend a mandatory Captain meeting (details to follow). If neither the captain nor the co-captain are able to attend, they must provide a representative in their place.

• December 8, 2023 – Registration opens for all
• December 22, 2023 – Registration closes at midnight
• December 28, 2023 – Captain and Line Judge Training (Virtual)
• January 5, 2024 – T-shirt pickup
• January 11, 2024 – Volleyball 101 Session (Virtual)
