Dates/Times: All games will be played on Sundays from 11:00am – 3:00pm.

Duration: Each match will be played as best of 3 sets, or 45 minutes of play.

Location: Roosevelt Park

League Description: The goal of this year’s volleyball program is to provide an inclusive environment for all skill levels. Please look at the experience levels below for guidance on which division you should sign up for. Teams will consist of 8-10 people with a 6v6 format (6 players on each side of the net). Every team must have at least one non-cisgender man on the team. We will have a 7-week regular season and the 8^th week will be the Tournament.

Experience Levels: As this is the Social League, it’s expected that every member is experience Level 1 or Level 2. If your experience level is between Level 3 to Level 5, please return to the main page and check out our Intermediate League.

• Level 1 – A level 1 player has never played before or has limited playing experience. They have not yet begun to bump, set, and spike and generally just aim to return the ball.
• Level 2 – A level 2 player knows the basics of volleyball and is beginning to bump, set, and spike.
• Level 3 – A level 3 player knows how to bump, set (a little) and spike but still needs practice to do these skills consistently.
• Level 4 – A level 4 player has good experience playing and knows where to be on the court at all times when plays are developing. They know where to be when the opponent is hitting. They also know the footwork to approach hitting effectively.
• Level 5 – A level 5 player has extensive playing experience. They know all the skills extremely well and can run combination plays in a basic way if passes are good.

Registration Cost: $50 per player, which includes your registered player t-shirt. The league is open to all and those in need of an equitable registration option can email us for more information.

Registration Information: Registration for the Summer 2024 Grass Volleyball Season begins on May 13^th for captains and May 20^th for general registration. Registration ends on June 3^nd or when the league is full.

How to Register: We'll place groups together to form teams of 8-10 people. Each team will need to choose one Co-Captain and two Referees to be trained to help officiate games as needed. Here’s how you can register for a team:

1. Register as a Captain and create a team – One person must sign up as Captain and create a team name. Then your friends can register for that team through the registration period with up to 6 additional people. After registration closes, we’ll add additional members to your team as needed to ensure you’ll get to meet new people!
2. Create a “Small Group” of up to 4 people – If you want to register for a smaller group of up to 4, you can! In that case, no one needs to be captain. One person simply needs to create a small group, which up to 3 other people can join. We’ll add your group to a team after registration ends.
3. Register as a Free Agent – If you want to register as an individual, no problem! Simply sign up as a Free Agent and we’ll add you to a team once registration is complete. We can’t wait for you to meet your team!

Note to Captains: If you plan on being the captain of a team, you will need to register first, create the team and team name and then have up to 6 additional players register under your team name. An email will be sent once you have signed up with additional team information and responsibilities. Captains and Line Judges are also required to attend a mandatory Captain and Line Judges meeting (details to follow). If neither the captain nor the co-captain can attend, they must provide a representative in their place.

• May 13, 2024 – Registration opens for captains at Noon
• May 20, 2024 – Registration opens for all at Noon
• June 3, 2024 – Registration closes at midnight
• June 21, 2024 – T-shirt pickup/Captain and Line Judge Training
